Yes. You read that headline right.
It was only a matter of time before some of the vanishing spray got loose and landed on the canisters themselves and simply vanished. Poof!
Alright I’ll stop rambling. What is L’Arbitre going on about eh?
IFAB made their biggest change to the Laws of the Game yet with the re-write this year. The 2016/2017 takes effect on June 1st. Probably far too early for the comfort of the referees selected for Euro 2016 and any tournaments. The number of changes that have come down at once and that will no doubt take time to shake out old habits will be the talking point for the next two years.
IFAB published their changes on April 12th 2016 on the newly coined website theifab.com. Oddly enough, there was a change a day later. That’s right. They changed a few small things in the Laws again without mentioning anything.
Maybe nobody will notice?
Who are they kidding? Referees. Since when do referees miss anything especially a few words in a several thousand word book.
Let’s focus in on one area.
Law 5 - The Referee. L'Arbitre. El Arbitro. Schiedsrichter. حكم
Have a good look at these two links. Page 48.
